Bob Anders

Bob started his career in 1977 as a commercial lender with First Union National Bank in Charlotte, NC, where he served until 1983 as a Vice  President and generated senior loans for companies with revenues under $50 million.  In 1983, Bob became one of two founding executives of First Charlotte Bank, a de novo community bank based in Charlotte, NC, where he was EVP responsible for lending and underwriting functions and served as chairman of the 4 person credit committee.  Ten years after starting the bank with $4MM, Mr. Anders participated in the sale of First Charlotte Bank to Centura Bank in 1993 for $32 million.  After joining Centura in 1993, Bob built and directed the middle market lending function, focusing efforts toward companies with credit needs from $2 to $15 million, and reported directly to Kel Landis.  In 1996, Bob started Centura’s private equity, investment banking and fund-of-funds groups.  From 1996 to 2004 he served as president of Centura SBIC, a mezzanine fund doing business as Centura Capital, which closed 15 transactions with middle market companies primarily in the Carolinas and Virginia.  Bob is a founding partner and the Managing Principal of Plexus Capital.

Bob is a board member of the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies (NASBIC) and holds a BSBA and MBA degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
